Welcome to đẹp

đẹp was born out of two things: my love for beauty and my passion for writing. đẹp comes from my Vietnamese heritage and something my Nana would often say to me: "đẹp quá!"  (pronounced: dep kwah) - which I later found out meant "so fucking beautiful". You go, Nana!

I created đẹp after applying to endless beauty publications and eventually thinking I could just do this. Google is a beautiful thing, after all. This online publication/magazine/venture is dedicated to not only giving the scoop on the latest in indie beauty, but also using my background in marketing and e-commerce to give brands a tangible resource on the next steps for beauty.

đẹp will bridge the gap between brands and consumers, giving unique insights and reports in beauty. Our goal is to ensure we are inclusive (after all, beauty knows no gender) and transparent (as a nosy human, I love transparent brands) all while not only keeping up to date with current beauty news, but staying ahead of the rest!

A little about me:

For as long as I could remember, I have loved beauty. From mixing my own lip glosses and nail polishes to consuming hours of YouTube videos circa 2012 when Bethany Mota and Michelle Phan ruled over the Internet while Jenna Marbles taught us "How to be Good Looking". Maybe I'm aging myself, here, but this ignited a whole new era of beauty consumption for me. I would constantly be at Sephora or the drugstore hopping on every trend and searching for the next. I had even started a blog then, proudly writing my thoughts and makeup looks as I could never get in front of a camera and record a YouTube video. Not only that, but none of the YouTubers I watched looked like me. I had convinced myself that anonymously being a blogger was my only option.

Well, here we are, a decade later doing it all over again! This time, I have experience behind me in both beauty and marketing, as well as a clear vision for what I want đẹp to be: a publication dedicated to beauty and a hub of thoughts and discovery.

Stay đẹp, humans! Let's do this!

xoxo,
A.B.
